- Could someone please tell me what they think would be a
- good CPS rate for a 14.4 V.42 connection. From the math
- it sounds like:

- (14,400 / 8) = 1800 CPS (raw w/no compression)

- I would expect you could do better depending on the
- compressibility of the data. I also expect that there's
- some overhead for ECC. I've been doing downloads lately
- and have been getting anywhere from 1000 to 2300 CPS.
- Sounds to me like the 2300 CPS figure was for pretty
- compressible data, but the 1000 CPS figures seem kind of
- low.
